If you walk about five blocks into the centre of Cabo, away from the tourist zone you can find amazing food packed with Mexican flavour.  It is also about a quarter of the price you will pay in the Golden Zone.  This is where we found a few places that we can afford to eat.  At one of them we can enjoy dinner for only $4.50 each. Included is a huge cup of melon juice. Mmmm, mouth watering memories.
I had my first oyster shooter the other day. I didn't know you could get an alcohol free shooter.  This was an interesting experience.
Bottoms up!
Giving the oyster a rest.

Poncho seems to know if you have bait fish left over at the end of the trip.  He is the oldest and largest of the harbour seals.  We watched him check out the boats and he ignores some and chooses others.  He is well loved by all.  There are other seals in the harbour that beg as well, but it is clear that Poncho wears the invisible crown..
Poncho is the biggest seal I have ever seen. I think these photos do not do him justice. I was afraid to pet him. Especially after I saw him snitch a tuna from the teasing fisherman. The tug of war did not last long.
I think this must be one of Poncho's offspring.

Can you see it?  When I loaded my photos I didn't see it. I thought it was part of the rock face.
Someone told me once to stop taking pictures of seagulls and pelicans.  They are amazing birds and I am fascinated with them.  And so, I continue to take photos of them on land, sea and in the air.
We met up with Helen and Robert again, new friends we made along the road.  We shared the cost of a fishing boat  and pulled 5 lures for 5 hours through the pacific waters.  The fish were smart that day.  They stole all our live bait and refused the lures.
The pelicans thought we were hiding our catch. They are very good at pilfering from the fishermen's boats.  Flying beggars, they follow all the boats in hoping for an easy bait fish or two.  There are some harbour seals that ride in on backs of the fishing boats and beg. I saw a fisherman tease one with a tuna so that his crew of tourists could take pictures and the seal grabbed that fish so fast and pulled so hard that the fisherman lost it.  Then a big fight ensued between the seal and the pelicans. Who needs to watch TV?

The finger of land that stretches down from San Diego and is surrounded by the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez, points directly at Cabo San Lucas.  This is called the Land's End.  Most people have seen pictures of this in travel magazines and many have been here.  It is a popular tourist destination.
This is the east side of the peninsula and below is the west side that faces the Pacific.
I'm having problems with the internet here.  Surprisingly, in this tourist oriented town I have found no fast internet.  Everyone should be out enjoying the sea. the beaches and the adventures anyways, so I will have to cut this short.  One post with two pictures has taken me an hour.  Tsk tsk tsk.  Wasting sunshine.

If you ever go to San Jose Del Cabo make sure you go to the old town. I love walking through the streets there.  The people are friendly and helpful.

But after three days it was time to move on to the Land's End, CAbo.,
I'm excited about spending a week or two here. I have never explored these places to my heart's content.  Also When Michel comes back he is bringing me a camera I can borrow for the rest of the trip.  My photos should improve somewhat if I am able to learn how to use it.
This is where I relax and sip cold drinks until my riding partner returns. I am just sorry he cannot be here to enjoy it also.   More later...slurp slurp...
