I was told that the man who took years to create all of this is now 94 years old and only recently has become infirm. So he was not there but his message will live on in painted words.
I did not take any pictures of the rest of Slab city because I felt it would be rude. Many people live there in old trailers, newer trailers, under tarps and camouflage coverings. They are people who consider themselves free from the rules of society and conformity. I found them to be friendly and hospitable. I was invited to stay for a spell but I was on my way to Indio to visit my sister and family.
